A Fresh Start at Caplinger Mills

We are so excited to embark on a new chapter for our family & neighboring community members - the re-making of an old riverfront resort!

This place was built out in 2008 with 4 cabins, a restaurant, a bathhouse, a bandstand, outhouses on septic, 2 garages & tons of RV/camping spots.

Its surrounded by over 1600 feet of riverfront & creekfront shoreline plus a boat launch. I mean, how cool is that?!

We never set out to find a place quite like this but when we saw it, we were smitten with possibility. We have a history with remodelling, real estate, interior design, full-time RV living, & have always had a love for camping and building unique businesses from scratch. It seemed like the perfect fit for us.

We plan to turn this place into a unique community space filled with a regenerative mini-farm, camping/glamping/RV & cabin rentals, events like weddings, reunions, concerts, festivals, & more. We want HRF to become a spot where families come to learn, share & grow together.

The overall design comes from the need of becoming self-sustainable & the desire to make an unfiltered life and an option for others who want to live free.

So far we have done major work on getting the 4 cabins remodelled & cleaned up, as well as getting the grounds cleaned, roads re-gravelled, a kid’s play area installed & so much more.

Our next steps are finishing the roads (we needs lots of gravel!), adding in 11 more RV hookup sites along the riverfront & shining up the bathhouse and outhouse for guests!

We are planning on a soft opening in early spring 2022 & look forward to hosting some fun community events over the summer.
