5 Reasons To Get Outside & Go Camping

Camping is SO much more than just a couple nights in a different bed - it’s an opportunity to shape our life & the lives of our families in a way we could never imagine. Here are just some of the reasons we cant get enough of this lifestyle.

  1. Quality Bonding Time: The tourism association of Southern California did a study that showed parents spend only 37 minutes of quality time with their kids a day! Whether you have kids or not, this is a cry to get together with our loved ones more & tune out the busy world for a while. Some of my fondest memories as a kid were our adventures traveling in my parent’s RV during the summertime. You never know what memories you’ll make!

  2. Increased Health: Getting out of the city & spending time in the countryside gives you access to fresher air, cleaner water & lots of negative ions. Negative ions are found in abundant amounts in the air around running rivers, mountains & beaches & increase your health in a number of ways. Luckily we have an abundance of riverfront campsites & cabins.

  3. Better Circadian Rhythm: Ever feel wired & tired, affected by insomnia, or toss all night? Resetting your circadian rhythm & sleeping under the moon can be a gamechanger for better sleep & hormonal health. Avoiding artificial light past sundown & waking with the sun are great ways to support that as well.

  4. Money Saving: Camping is a relatively inexpensive way to spend a weekend & homemade meals are much less than eating out. Looking for a way to make some financial gains in your life? Quit saving for an uber-expensive vacation & instead channel that added cash towards one of your other goals: home buying, investments, education, or whatever it may be! Small sacrifices now reap great benefits later.

  5. Adventure & Exploring: There is nothing better than seeing somewhere new, gaining new experiences & meeting like-minded people. It’s wonderful for brain health & increases strength in the body when you get outside more. At our campground, there is an abundance of wildlife to watch out for: otters, wild turkeys, armadillos, bald eagles, blue herons & more! With quick access to the historic Caplinger Mills sites & miles of trails & waterfront to explore, we know your adventurous spirit won’t be disappointed.
